Has any one had this experience? I have heard on this "Buzzin Pattaya" channels video at the 17:00 marker a visa agent describing people having to prove their paperwork again with the DTV ?

Answer summary

The discussion revolves around the necessity of re-submitting documentation for a DTV visa extension in Thailand. It highlights that one might need to demonstrate updated financial proof and other supporting documents when applying for an extension. Commenters emphasize that while some videos or agents may promote their services, it's often possible to navigate these processes independently without an agent. Additionally, there's a caution against scammers promising easy long-term approvals.

To stay in Thailand for six months, you must demonstrate that you can support yourself and meet specific criteria.

By definition, applying for an extension for another six months would logically require similar evidence. Why do some people assume it’s as simple as walking in, saying “hi,” and leaving with an approval?

Has anyone considered that this process is also an opportunity for immigration to identify and address those who may be abusing or misusing the system? After all, that’s part of their role.

Be aware that this video is mainly a sales pitch for an agent and his company in pattaya. For most things you dont need an agent and especialy for the DTV no agent can really help you.

Yes for the extension you will have to show documents again. a fresh financial proof apparently the most important document.

That's why better do everything correct, if an agency or "magic course for a few thbs" promises you that you will be ok for 5 years, maybe they are lying to you, careful with scammers and "half scammers"
