When I first moved here nearly 19 years ago I began by using local travel agents, as at that time I was not IT savvy and certainly did not possess a Smart phone.

After I got my smart phone some years later I like every body started to use Agoda, Expedia, Booking.com

plus many other sites

to book both hotel rooms and international and domestic flights to many destinations.

THEN , suddenly I realised that I should be booking DIRECT with either the hotel or the airline, BINGO!

The hotels and airlines all have their own websites, may be contacted by phone or email.

Simples, save time, save money, at least 10%, get direct confirmation of your bookings, and avoid all

the ANGST!!!!

Not too clever to think about traveling anywhere

on this planet at the moment.

I do fully understand that after more than 2 years of Covid, not seeing family or friends and wanting to relax on a sun baked tropical beach is very tempting.

Sadly very sadly Putin invaded a sovereign country in the centre of Europe.

This as we know, apart from all the carnage and suffering on the ground

has elevated the risk level

for all travelers to maybe it’s highest in years.

Of course everyone has their own personal reasons to travel, but personally I will avoid air travel and airports for some time to come.

Yep, good summary of the road conditions,BUT no mention of the defective vehicles and their drivers, usually stoned, talking on their phones,watching a video, screaming or arguing with the wife and kids, etc,etc.

By the way once you have settled here and fancy a short break, then you could fly BKK/Phnom penh in under an hour and stay

at the Rambutan resort, as I did a few years ago. Can’t wait to get back there post

Covid. Highly recommended.
