TLDR : Answer Summary
Thailand is set to fully reopen for tourists on November 1, 2021, allowing entry for vaccinated travelers from designated countries with minimal restrictions. Despite the reopening, there are concerns about hidden requirements and the overall state of the tourism industry, including high flight costs and uncertainties regarding what facilities will be available upon arrival. The post includes several recommended links for travelers to check official guidelines and updates.

Definitely a bit too soon. Not a safe or enjoyable time to travel.

Was to be soon ( again ), but now new spike in Chiangmai ( 200 cases a day ) .
I would and it wont. Now is the easiest time to travel to Thailand and if you are unaware of that you haven't been on these facebook pages long enough;)
I also went in February. Compared to that this will be a walk in the park. Given everything that is now in motion your comment 'unsure nowadays' makes absolutely no sense.
yes Ive read it thank you. Flying on the 15th. Have to see how many days it will take for my visa to be ready and if I will have enough time to get this Thai Pass. Maybe Ill push my flight forward with one week, no biggie.

Thailand announces the Grand Reopening from 1st November 2021 for entire tourists from everywhere in the world with 3 schemes.
1. Test&Go : Quarantine-Free entry for foreign travelers who fully vaccinated 2doses from 46 countries, go traveling Thailand everywhere.
2. Living in Blue Zone : Welcome fully vaccinated visitors from countries not on the list under relaxed conditions, go traveling in blue zone provinces where estimated 70% Thai popultion likely vaccinated.
3. Happy Quarantine : Unvaccinated tourists still can visit Thailand and must stay in alternative quarantine 10 days program with restrictions.
Well that’s your ever changing Thai rules of entree as of today. Cheers
no with diabetes or heart problems which most expats have I have tried the premium is about
*****
baht a year and that will not cover you for preexisting conditions and diabetes can be related to anything so the insurance is not worth the paper it's written on .in my aid work with the red cross I have come across most things and this is top of the list .

Don't go to bars as there are none near us and I don't live in a tourist area up in the north .and you only need to satisfy immigration if your applying for a visa outside Thailand not a extension of a current visa but hey ho .before I came hear quite some years ago I made sure I had enough money in my wife's Thai account to cover me for any eventuallity .but a lot of expats don't have that and that's what I was addressing if you live hear to get insurance with a ongoing condition such as diabetes is a no go.at no point did I mention immigration .be safe good and well .
The requirements for OA Visa is 40k outpatient and 400k outpatient. There is nothing about it having to cover pre-existing conditions. The insurance just excludes you from that.
You need to decide which point you are addressing. Getting decent cover with existing conditions or getting minimum coverage to satisfy immigration requirements. Equating the two does not help
You can get very basic cover. Of course existing conditions like diabetes will not be covered but enough for Thai Immigration. Go and talk to an expert on these matters and not bloody bar talk. My insurance costs my company 260k THB a year and even with that existing conditions are not covered for first 24 months without a claim
but most expats hear are old men and relate to what they say .not me I may add I am my own man.and in my time with the red cross society of Thailand.the talk in all quarters is very distressing for the tourist industry sorry to say.i have friends in Phuket work in your industry and also sell real estate and I honestly hope all the talk is wrong but if you look at the state of Pattaya and other towns in the south it looks bad.keep safe stay well but most of all enjoy life.
I am not exactly a spring chicken myself but I don't take any notice of Thai visa, in fact I think I may be banned.
While I agree that the prognosis for the tourist industry is far from great, I still have a little optimism for the end of this year as I have had some provisional bookings. What I was saying is that telling people everywhere is closed is a sure fire way to keep everything closed, as people come back more places will open, obviously restrictions will need to be lifted if the country wants to welcome tourists again.
I hope for all my friends who have nothing where I live your optimision is correct I see so many people asking for food never in my years of being hear have I seen it so bad .it's ok you talking and me talking but that's all the people in charge are doing instead of action they seem to think it will like a sore heel itself.stay safe and well and enjoy life
This is taken from Thai visa updated daily by people who live there I live up north went to Chiang Mai last week curfew 10 pm no bars open only a few cafes it the same all over I am in contact with friends in pattaya patong and have a friend works in the tourist industry please come see for yourself if you want a quiet time with your gf ok but if your like the usual tourists then forget it .just my opinions based on fact we are not all the same but are untitled to say it as it is .good luck safe flight enjoy.
You mean no one wants to deal with the constantly moving goal posts and jump through the interminable hoops required to enter Thailand?
Expand
Let me fix your post:
You mean no one wants to deal with the constantly moving goal posts and jump through the interminable hoops required to enter a deserted, devastated entertainment adult industry, shuttered down for good all across Thailand?
What a surprise!
Imagine jumping through all the expensive hoops only to end up on a deserted Walking Street, Soi Buakhao, Patong, Phuket, etc with a nasty curfew, no alcohol being served in restaurants/dining places and no nightlife at all.
I am happily married for years with a daughter and granddaughter never been to Pattaya live in a small Thai town called Tak no tourists .and I am not complaining plus I never insulted you why insult me and my Thai family?if you would like to take a trip up to see us feel free but there is no English spoken hear so if you speak Thai and have integrated as I have you are very welcome to visit to see that I am not a sex tourist .I actually work for the red cross society of Thailand in tak and see how the sex tourism kills many young girls lives.no nice I can assure you .so please before you know a person don't put them in the same category as maybe yourself or others ok.keep safe in these unprecedented times enjoy Thailand .
well that is also not true. Pretty easy to come now but it just depends if you are vaccinated and how long you want to stay. DO check the embassy website of your country. Dare to google..........
Yes but nowhere is open .plus the insurance scam and test scam .most expats who have family hear cannot get insurance as they have underlying conditions but they have children hear so sad for them and the families just think if they have the required amount of money in the bank to cover medical expenses they should be allowed to come to they wives and children if vaccinated without all this protocol.yes agree tourists should have insurance.but why corvid insurance if fully vaccinated.?
I dont even get what you are saying??? What is not open? I fly there in two weeks, spend 1 day in a hotel(double vaccinated), do a test and im out. Go to a freaking perfect tropical island to meet my gf and have a great time. What scam? Yes I now need Thai insurance, it will cost me the same as the Dutch one. Like 50,- bucks a month.
Thai insurance is valid but so is foreign insurance. If you are working in Thailand and paying Social Security that healthcare cover is valid. As you say no scam
like I said most expats with family in Thailand have been hear years and underlying heath conditions and carnt get any health insurance .so they should all pack up leave their lives family and friend of many years and go back to a country that will now treat them as immigrants?
yes it is quiet here at the moment but while a lot of places are closed not all places are closed, the way it can get busier is to encourage people to come. Another point worth mentioning is that Thai visa is not a credible source of information it is a forum run by moaning old men and shouldn't be taken seriously.
Flights might remain expensive as airlines have not taken up their slots till they see demand. Reported yesterday 80% not taken up as of yet between December and March next year.
I see that you are in Phoenix (opposite side of the country) but here's a list of round-trip flights from NYC to BKK and back. I'm not sure what you consider expensive in 2021 but I'm quite confident $750 US round-trip is a good price. However, with petroleum prices rising, I doubt that they will remain this low.
My advice to people on hear is to look at the Facebook profile of people as some on hear work for organisations closely connected to the tourist industry and need tourists to survive .so it's like asking a car salesman is this car ok .O yes sir 3 wheels will be fine .just do your homework on people and then think . there is a great saying never trust anyone who can make a profit out of what they say or advise.
firstly, not everyone can self quarantine, which means a mandatory stay in an ASQ hotel. (Thankfully, that’s changing next month.) Secondly, some of us actually need more than a set of dumbbells to stay in shape, let alone make gains. I get that you were only conveying your experience, and I agree that the paperwork, despite the extra steps, isn’t that bad. However, there are also hinderances. Thankfully, there are some welcome changes coming next month. Also, congratulations on your body transformation! Keep up the good work.
sometimes those who sit in the plane seats close to positive person are asked to self isolate. But that's the same with any workplace or family member, anywhere, in most countries.
yes just read and follow instructions, my first one in July 2020 got phone call at 16 00 hours to come embassy 10 am with all paperwork 20 minutes later had visa and coe. But just followed list and had everything ready
