@Kathalyn ******
That is totally wrong!

The six year old grandson just enrolled

at a private school in Huahin for the first 5 months term; cost 6000 Thai baht, not sure where your figures come from.

Absolutely NOT necessary to use agents, as Immigration will guide you and help you with your retirement visa application at every step.

Garrett, thanks for your prompt reply, I do hold a non immigrant O visa, so is a medical certificate still required?

Thanks.

Garrett,good morning.

I hope you may clarify the following points for me.

My 5 year Thai driving

License will expire on

26 September this year.

1: How soon may I apply to DLT prior to the expiry date?

2: I live in Huahin and will apply at DLT Chaam, apart from the

current license, my Passport, Yellow Tabien Baan , Pink ID card, House Registration certificate, could you please confirm what other documents will be required?

FYI, this will be my 3rd

Driving License renewal. Thanks.

Check with your pharmacist or GP.

I have lived here for more than 15 years and have used Elomet

or Fucidin , both creams, which in the UK you will maybe have to get a prescription for.

On the other hand you

might be able to buy it

OTC just as we do here, take care.

So lesson learned, book direct……

@Ruth ******
. Thanks for your recent reply.

Your unpleasant experience only serves to underline the fact that these websites have zero sympathy or

compassion for the client suffering personal issues as you did.

They are all very much akin to real estate agents who at the end of the day are only interested in the commission they earn on each property transaction.

I do fully understand their situation; simply that they are running a business and providing a service with all the associated costs.

However by contacting

hotels or airlines directly and actually TALKING with the staff in the reservations department and giving them your exact requirements you will get a personal response and answers to all your questions, especially if you are a first time visitor.

After all this is how we

all used to make our bookings before we had access to the internet.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Another great benefit of contacting the hotel directly is that very often depending on how busy they are, you have the opportunity to discuss and negotiate their best rates, especially if you are a returning customer.

Prior to contacting any Hotel I always go to Tripadvisor which clearly displays all the details and information

needed.

That is surely the case, that

hotels and airlines have contracts with all the major websites from which they obtain

most of their business,

however by contacting the hotels and airlines

directly they, in my past experience over the past ten years always acknowledge and confirm my booking requests, regardless of

any contracts they may have in place, ie

I am treated as a ‘personal customer’
