And what is the problem - are long pants impossible to get? I'm not suggesting a suit but long pants are considered proper dress by Thai in this country

Depends on the Imm Office. In a big noisy Bkk Imm office - most anything goes... Go to a small town (compared to Bkk) and waltz in to the receptionist desk with flip flops, t-shirt and shorts and looking like you need a bath can get you a sizing up look and a hard time. Yes - I say if an issue has been up like a day of overstay or whatever - looking like a homeless person may not get you the break needed.

Next time remember - don't wait until the last date - not necessary - you could have gone two weeks ago - they add extension days onto the END - You don't lose days.

If I were you, I would get to the Immigration office - wear a shirt with a collar, long pants if you can - then submit your passport for Extension. Politely explain your miscalculation - carry a paper page of a November calendar. They may well say nothing or be a bit terse but in the end likely approval.
