I have a Multientry Tourist Visa. The first entry was from 30 september to end of november. I planned to do a 30 day extension on 30 of november, but now i realised the stamp was until 28 of november. So i am 2 days overstay. I will pay a fine ? They will give me a 30 day extension ? No problems in the future ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about being 2 days overdue on their Multientry Tourist Visa and whether they'll be fined and able to receive a 30-day extension. Responses suggest that visiting the immigration office will likely yield a 30-day extension, although there is a fine of 1000 THB for the overstay. Advice varies, with some recommending appropriate attire and politeness when explaining the overstay to immigration officials, while others reassure that overstaying by a day or two is common and manageable.

I went to immogration, they gave me 30 days extension with no problem. I had to pay 1000B extra for 2 days overstay and they wrote it on the passport. I am not sure if it is a problem an overstay stamp on passport.

So glad to here it worked out for you... Often the I/O staff are understanding when the issue is minor and understandable as a simple oversight...

They gave me 30 days from 28 of november, so from the date the previous stamp expired

glad it worked out. (y) Just curious, did you get a 30 day extension from the date your previous stamp expired OR from the date you went to the immigration office.

What I'm wondering was did they cut the 2 days off your extension because you were on overstay

And what is the problem - are long pants impossible to get? I'm not suggesting a suit but long pants are considered proper dress by Thai in this country

Depends on the Imm Office. In a big noisy Bkk Imm office - most anything goes... Go to a small town (compared to Bkk) and waltz in to the receptionist desk with flip flops, t-shirt and shorts and looking like you need a bath can get you a sizing up look and a hard time. Yes - I say if an issue has been up like a day of overstay or whatever - looking like a homeless person may not get you the break needed.

I think a bit of politeness goes a lot further than your dress code

Face it you're not the first foreigner to overstay in thailand.

Just go to the immigration office (don't worry about dressing up or acting all contrite) pay the overstay fine and apply for the 30 day extension.

As
@J*
, pointed out there's no need to wait until the last day because they ADD the extension on to your current stamp's expiration.

I bet you'll look at your admitted until stamp from now on though

Good Luck, report back and let us know how it went.

Thanks. I'll report back :)

Next time remember - don't wait until the last date - not necessary - you could have gone two weeks ago - they add extension days onto the END - You don't lose days.

If I were you, I would get to the Immigration office - wear a shirt with a collar, long pants if you can - then submit your passport for Extension. Politely explain your miscalculation - carry a paper page of a November calendar. They may well say nothing or be a bit terse but in the end likely approval.

It has been said on here that police and immigration offices have been stopping mini buses doing visa runs and locking people up for over stay.

take care getting to the immigration office.
