90 day reports can be done (when in person) from 15 days before to 7 days after. It does not matter what kind of extension or visa you have (if the visa allows to stay longer than 90 days), its about staying longer than 90 days in the country.
your driver's license (if it's a thai license) still have your passport number on it though ;)
I used a hotel in Buengkan last summer (home provinse) using my drivers license at check-in.. Immigration gave grief about it when I reported back after a trip to krabi after new year. The IO looked very serious about me not reporting back after that hotel stay last summer, even though its same provinse. I did not get fined though as his superior told him to overlook it.
But morale is that even just using the DL they will know. And that in Buengkan even a registered stay in same provinse has to be reported on when back home. I will ask the missus to do the booking/check-in next time, and see if I can get away with not showing anything.
As far as I know the extension/visa based on marriage is only if you are married to a Thai national. You should in stead apply for an extension based on dependant on a person who has a non-o B
They are quite relaxed and friendly in there. But they are also getting a little more strict with some things. In the past years, I never had to report back after having been out of the provinse. Only after being out of the country. When I did my last 90 days report in start December, I asked if would need to report back after going to Krabi for the new years, thinking about other places has started to demand that. I was told I would need to report. So today I did. It was a new IO that processed it. Then when he looked in the computer he noticed that I had stayed in a hotel last summer (in Buengkan), and i replied that it was when our daughter was born. I did not report anything as its the same provinse. I have even done 2 90 days and my yearly extension in between.. He looked concerned/serious about it, but then his higher ranking college told him to overlook it.
But I guess that in the future, having been anywhere for more than 24 hours (not if its private and not registered of course) I will have to report after.
It sounds like what you have is an extension of stay based on being over 50. You go every year to immigration and ask for a one year extension?
If that's what you're doing, you don't have a visa anymore. You have an extension of stay.
When you apply for the extension based on marriage, they will check all documents before accepting the application. Only if everything is in order they will accept it.
They will then cancel your existing extension, and stamp in the first month (under consideration) of your extension based on marriage. After 30 days you come back to get the rest of that yearly extension stamped in (11 months.. totalling 12 months).
It's very rare that it would get denied in that consideration period. I have personally never heard of it. If your marriage is genuine, and you can meet the requirements for the marriage extension you are good.
says! Easiest way is to go to Vientiane in Laos and get another turist visa and then extend it at immigration. If you want to stay that long another time, better to get a multi entry turist visa from Sweden before you go to Thailand ;)
