Is it normal for the under consideration period for a marriage extension to last longer than 30 days in Thailand?

So.. Today I went to Buengkan immigration officer to apply for 1 year extension based on marriage. My first 1 year extension expires 3rd of October. I had to go today anyway to do my 90 days report and decided to apply for the extension at the same time, as it is less than 30 days before expiration. I had all the necessary documents and money seasoned for an appropriate time. Actually there was no problems.. Just one thing I dont fully understand.. I got the under consideration stamp, and I was under the impression this was a 30 day thing.. So I was expecting to be asked to come back about 10th of October. But they stamped in 2nd of November for me to come back and get the extension stamp inked in. Is it normal procedure, because my extension actually is valid until 3rd October, and then count the 30 days under consideration from then? In reality it means that it is now under consideration for almost 60 days.. Not a problem though. I dont mind if i have to go October or November. Just wondering.. Anybody knows this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a 1-year extension based on marriage at Buengkan immigration. They received an under consideration stamp valid until November 2nd, despite their current extension expiring on October 3rd. This raised questions about the normal length of the under consideration period and its implications, as it appears to extend beyond the typical 30 days. Community responses clarify that the under consideration period may involve verification processes and can be longer than expected, but ultimately, extensions are reflected in the current stay.

Do you have to get anything from a village chief or something...or just the usual requirements?

You applied for a 1 year Extension of Stay based on marriage with a Thai National. This Extension of Stay is split in two parts, first is the 30 day under consideration where they might visit your house address to see if you actually married and live together. At the end of this period you go back with your passport and they stamp the remaining 11 months as Extension of Stay in your passport. And as Extensions are always added to your current admitted to stay, the 30 days under consideration are also added.

yep that throws off a lot of people that the 30 days under consideration is actually the first month of the year extension. When you go back you'll get the other 11 months.

Of course it counts from the expiration date, or it would not fit with a year devided in 1+11 months after that ;)

I know this.. but the first part.. the under consideration, does that not start before the old one expires? Even though I applied already today?
