What are my options for extending my stay in Thailand with a marriage certificate and existing OA visa?

Greetings all, ok i'm back with my marriage certificate and now trying to figure out my next move.

My OA + 30 day extension at LakSi IT stamp expires on the 16th of July. However the money in my bank account, 400k, will only be eligible (fixed in the bank 2 months prior requirement) the 26th of August).

I have a bit if a history in and out of Thailand this year, work and personal reasons. Since a new passport in December:

OA +1 border bounce to Poi Pet and also 2 extensions on OA at Laksi IT.

I'm living here full time and dont really want to shack up in a neighboring country for a couple of weeks unless i have to.

Is a Poi Pet border bounce an option on the extension i have right now from LakSi?

Or shall i fly out spend a week in Cambodia and return end of the month with another OA, allowing me to stay, then go to CW on the 26th or 27th and get the Marriage visa affected?

I'm concerned that if i fly out again and fly back in they will pin me down and maybe not let me back in? Thats why i ask about the border bounce, but that then only allows me till the 16ish of August...(Overstay worth it?)

The IO did grill me a little on the last time i flew in at DM, more so because i didnt have a outbound flight from The Kingdom. I had to book something before she allowed me back in...

TIA once agian for all your input.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has an OA visa with a 30-day extension expiring on July 16, and they are exploring options to stay longer while waiting for their bank funds to become eligible for a marriage visa. They consider whether to do a border bounce at Poi Pet or fly to Cambodia and return to Thailand for an extension. Several commenters clarify that a border bounce might not be effective and suggest applying for a family extension based on the marriage certificate. The user is also advised about specific visa application rules, emphasizing that the 2-month bank requirement only applies in certain offices.

You can get the 60 day Thai family extension. That should give you extra time to sort out the marriage visa extension

So you don't have the non-O visa at all yet.

There's only one immigration in Thailand that requires you to have the money in the bank for 2 months to apply for the non-O visa and that is Jomtien immigration.

If you're using any other office, the only thing you need to show is that you have 400,000 in a Thai bank account in your name only.

The 2 months is for the 1 year extension you'll apply for after you get your 90 day non-O visa.

Thanks for the info. Looks like im all set then.

If you are legally married to a Thai you can take the extension to visit Thai family (60 days)

Does this still apply though? I do not yet have the Marriage Visa only the Certificate. If it is so, then it will save me alot of hassle if i can just go get an extension without the visa...

Thanks, however, sorry about the additional q's, The money is in the bank, but has not yet met the 2 months prior requirement. I hope this is not an issued. It is stated on the image you posted above.

@Schögn ****
There is no financial requirement for this extension

Many thanks, let me investigate further and very likely go visit CM next week. Thanks again for your input.

@Schögn ****
if you entered visa exempt, you will probably need to go to IT Square for the extension.
Graham ******
@Alistair *********
Isn't that just for a tourism 30d extension?
Alistair **********
@Graham *****
IT Square is for if you enter on visa exemption, I believe that follows you. I got a 1yr extension from there. I didn't try going to CW tho, so idk if they would accept it or send you to IT Square.

Bangkok has a separate office for visa exempt. I don't know of any other provinces that does. Just go to the immigration office. There are 77 provinces in Thailand, and more than 80 immigration offices.
Alistair **********
@Mikkel ******
which office?
Mikkel *******
@Alistair *********
which office what? If you mean Bangkok, it's laksi square for visa exempt extension. If another province, then usually just the local immigration office.
Alistair **********
@Mikkel ******
so exactly as I said then?? He's in Bangkok so I didn't feel it necessary to mention other provinces and their immigration requirements
Mikkel *******
@Alistair *********
please point out where he said that? He only said the last extension was from laksi square.
Alistair **********
@Mikkel ******
said what?
Mikkel *******
Okay. Apologies then. This is not a specifically Bangkok group, so did not catch that abbreviation. Could mean anything.
Mikkel *******
Where does he mention Cheangwattana?
Alistair **********
Mikkel *******
@Alistair *********
Especially since OP used the abbreviation OA for a visa exempt. But okay. I accept your explanation 😉
Mikkel *******
@Alistair *********
You just assumed that that was the case. It might be so. But he did not say that.
Mikkel *******
@Alistair *********
that he is in bangkok. Tourists tend to travel around. That is what a visa exempt if for. Tourists.
Alistair **********
@Mikkel ******
then why would he mention going to Cheangwattana? He literally mentions the two main Bangkok immigration offices. He also said he's "living here full time" and he's trying to move to a different extension so he's not an actual tourist
Mikkel *******
@Alistair *********
it doesn't "follow you". As a tourist you get the extension at the immigration office that serves the area you are in (where your latest tm30 is done).
Alistair **********
@Mikkel ******
yes, and if you are in Bangkok you use IT Square if you enter visa exempt. If you get an extension that doesn't change the stamp you got on entry. Hence the visa exemption requirement to use IT Square "follow you"
Mikkel *******
@Alistair *********
of course the rules follow you. In the sense that you get 1 30 day extension from a visa exempt entry. The requirements might be slightly different from province to province. What you said initially was that if on a visa exempt entry you have to use laksi square in Bangkok. That is only true if you are actually in Bangkok.

@Schögn ****
Yes, this extension is available to tourists just need a valid marriage certificate etc.
Steve ********
What's the OA you keep referring to?
Schögn *****

@Steve *******
"On Arrival"
Steve ********
@Schögn ****
Best to refer to it as "visa exempt" as OA is a retirement visa
Brandon ************
Regardless of your situation you do not want to go to Poi Pet. It's the worst land border in Thailand and tons of people get denied entry into Thailand trying to do a border bounce there.

@Brandon ***********
I dont plan to, nor want to. But using the Agent to get it done is normally a-ok
Brandon ************
I'm very confused because you said OA+30 days but there's no 30 day extension available if you're on an OA visa.
Schögn *****
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Brandon ***********
Maybe my terminology is incorrect then, the stamp i refer to is the 30 day Tourist stamp you obtain "On Arrival" at the airport...
Brandon ************
@Schögn ****
that's called visa exempt and it's not a visa at all.

A non-OA visa is a retirement visa with special rules.
