I was supposed to come today to immigration in Buengkan to get my remaining 11 months stamped in on a yearly extension based on marriage. My wife was in contact with them the last few days do to other things. The regional headquarters in Khon Kaen suddenly wanted an updated copy of my bankbook, again, even though I applied in September and haven't heard from them since. Buengkan office told her everything okay again, but they will call on a later date when I can come and get my stamp. They couldn't specify when exactly. Guess immigration all over the country is running busy these days due to obvious reasons.
my current stamp expires 3rd october. Counting 30 days from that is monday 2nd November. But they insisted it should be friday 30th October. I did explain my situation, that I have last school day 30th October, and cant make it from Bangkok to Buengkan after school friday. They said no problem for me to come monday. So my question is, what if I have to show my passport during that weekend. In hotel, at road points etc.
said. If you are actually still studying up until 14th October, you're good until then, then just go a week or so before to immigration, with a letter from your school saying you will stop studying on the 14th October. That will give you time to get ready to leave. Or apply for another type of extension if you have a valid reason. As he pointed out you are not on a visa, but an extension of stay. As soon as you stop studying, that extension is no longer valid. If that's the case, you are already on amnesty, and would under normal circumstances be in overstay and potentially trouble. But they have waived the fines for that until 26th September. Letting you stay until then.
