The visa has only less than a month left before the expiry date. There is not enough time to have the money 2 months prior the application. Do you know what options are available in the meantime?

Thank you for your reply. May I ask if you know the current rule about showing 400K? I heard that the amount is required to be showed in the account when applying for the extension but no need to have it 4 months in advance anymore. Is this correct?

Hi! My husband went to get a non-O visa based on marriage from Suvannakhet. Then he flew to meet me and my son in Tokyo while we were on holiday and we flew back to Bangkok together. All went well. Thank you for the tips from

I’m a mom of two young kids.

Our family’s priority is the health of our children.

We lived in Bangkok for 13 years and decided to move out because of the air pollution problem. We visited ChiangMai lots of times before the air pollution got worse and it’s deadly serious as it is now so I never consider taking my kids to live in the north. ❌Lots of kids in the north are having health issues because of the polluted air. 😷

Sure, people say you can go to somewhere else during the smog season but once your kids are in school it’s not easy to always have to escape.

We moved to Samui and lived there for 1.5 years , we lived in a nice pool villa with beautiful beach and sunset view, we had made friends and had wonderful time. These are the reasons we moved out of Samui;

▪️Children activities were limited once they reach primary age.

▪️Once you live there for a while you feel that there is nowhere to go and not much to do besides relaxing by the beach. Yes, we learned to scuba dive and explored the neighboring islands but we wanted to have more options.

▪️It is expensive to fly the whole family out of the island as Bangkok Airways has a complete monopoly over their services.

▪️Commuting with the ferry is exhausting when you have to do often.

Where to live depends on your lifestyle and priority in your life.

Thank you so much Brandon for your helpful advice.

I’m sorry for having to trouble you with another question. Once he gets the non-O based on marriage from Suvannakhet and come back to Thailand, can we deposit 400K and leave it in his account for 2 months then apply for his visa extension right away so he doesn’t need to keep bouncing every 90 days for one year? It would be inconvenient to travel often after the birth of the second baby.

Dear Brandon, May I ask you a question regarding this matter?

We are going on to Tokyo next week. (This trip was booked months ago). My husband is still in Penang now, and he will buy a new ticket to meet us in Japan.

We are considering the possibility for his return to Thailand:

▪️Option 1. After the Tokyo trip, he gets a new ticket Tokyo-Laos to get the non-O based on marriage from Suvannkhet. Then back to Thailand by himself.

▪️Option 2. Return to Thailand together as a family with tickets we bought originally. My husband will try to enter without the non-O visa. Then once in the country, we process the marriage visa. Would the immigration officer seeing us together helps the matter?

I was wondering which option would be best for our situation.
