I have had visa extensions for 16 years from various offices starting with pattaya , I was told to get a med letter which I only did once then never asked for it again then I asked in Chiang Mai no letter required then in NaN letter was refugees every year they were all for over 50. Last year I decided to change to marriage visa which I would have applied for in NaN who wanted a med letter but just before I had to apply the phrae office opened so I had to apply there . I took all papers including med letter which was filed but not really looked at so this year ( January) my wife phoned just before due date and got a list of requirements as we do every year ( so as not to waste time) and no med required but it was asked for in Nan the only place I’ve ever been asked for it.
I had to get a medical letter for my over 50 ext and it would have been required for a marriage ext in NAN but a new office opened in Phrae last year and I've just done my new ext for marriage with no requirement for a medical letter so again it seems to depend on the office your using
I’ve been here getting visa and ext for 16 years my imm office was NaN and they insisted that the bank letter and bank book agreed now there’s an imm office in Phrae which when asked they said the same but added the bank book should be updated the day of application. NaN also wanted a health check letter which Phrae doesn’t ask for. I’ve found the differences between offices amazing. Also it was Bkk bank that told me I need a statement as letter now which was correct
Did an ext of marriage visa today had to have letter from bank showing balance that must be the same as bank book and for the first time (for me) a statement of my account which went back numerous months. I have an under consideration stamp and need to return on the 19th Feb
I've returned to my home country every year , sometimes if I'm certain I'm going back I get a re entry with my extension or just get one a week or so before leaving. Never had a prob retuning.
Next time in Thailand visit immigration explain your situation and ask what they can do to help you. Amazing the difference it makes asking rather than trying your luck with io.
As I've said before re TM 30 check at your immigration office what they require. I got so confused re the rights and wrongs of this so I went to my immigration office to be told even after leaving Thailand if I return to my normal place of residencies Thai I don't need to report. My friend who lives in another province was told the same, now a new office has opened nearer to my house here so I checked again same answer but best to check
