Why do I need a letter from immigration to open a bank account after moving across Thailand?

FYI moved from Phrae to Mae Rim ( Chiang Mai) did TM 30 all good , want open bank account same bank different branch ,told need letter from immigration, went to CM immigration to be told I must go to Phrae as they issued the extension. Didn't see that one coming, go to Phrae to get letter saying I live in MaeRim!!!!!!!

that's crazy, you filed a TM30 which changed your actual address from Phrae to Chiang Mai. They should have done the certificate for you there.. Sending you back to Phrae when you have a C/M address doesn't make any sense at all
