@Tod ********
the last time I tried to update my TM30 myself at Chiang Mai immigration (to advise of having returned to Thailand within 24hrs of arrival) they were adamant that I couldn't do it myself anymore. And that it could only be done by my landlord online or in person. That was in February 2020

From what I can gather the Astra Zenica vaccine will be used here, but it is difficult to know who will get it ie it will possibly be reserved for quarantine and healthcare workers and the most vulnerable, with everyone else being given the Chinese produced Sinovac. Also not clear whether foreigners will be able to get it at the same time as Thai people or only after Thai people are vaccinated. Some reports have said vaccines will be available free to foreigners. If anything it is possible that foreigners will be vaccinated in age groups with similarly aged Thai people ie elderly and those with comorbidities first, along with those in front line roles, young and healthy later. Nothing has been announced re whether there will be any choice re the brand of vaccine given.There is some speculation that the vaccines will be available for a price at private hospitals ie Pfizer/Moderna, but nothing official relating to this has been announced

As I understand it your wife could set up a tutoring business in her name. I'm not sure whether she can employ you though, as others say for every foreigner employed there needs to be a requisite number of Thai people also employed. As many foreigners here work as English teachers you might fall into a category that foreigners are permitted to work in, if you have teaching qualifications or at a minimum a bachelor's degree in anything ie not necessarily teaching.

Another possibility may be to set up the business in your name so as to get a business visa with you as managing director, I am not sure that you would be permitted to teach in that set up though

But perhaps if you are wanting to teach in Thailand you could look at applying to international schools in Bangkok and come in on a work visa with the view of living and working here for a year or two until the Covid situation changes and you can travel back to Myanmar

The STV is restrictive and expensive. You cannot change onto another visa from the STV, it is clearly stated on every article and Thai Embasdy website that this is not possible. As others have said you need to pay for your 15 days hotel quarantine upfront starting at around 30,000 baht each and for insurance that will cover $100K US for a minimum of 90 days. Then you need to pay for the remainder of your 90 days accommodation in Thailand upfront (10 weeks) before you can even get a STV. As there is little chance of the land border opening between Thailand and Myanmar anytime soon given the out of control Covid situation in Myanmar, I can't see any advantage of you flying into Thailand as opposed to flying directly into Myanmar from the US

@Mina *****
It used to be 15 days beforehand. Now you can do it online right up to the day it is due. Did my last two 90 day reports online, close to the date, my last one at 1.00am on the day it was due

Everything I had read to date about the vaccine in Thailand indicates that vaccination won't commence until May 2021. Vulnerable and frontline workers first, general (Thai) population by the end of 2021
Dianne *****
It has previously been announced that the vaccine available in Thailand (free for Thai citizens)will be the Astra Zenica/Oxford one. The same as that being given now in the UK

not sure where you are getting your information from, but the Australian government health department information, states that vaccination will begin for Australians in March 2021 and will initially only be available for healthcare and other frontline workers in addition to the elderly and medically vulnerable. It is anticipated that by the end of 2021 all Australians will have access to the vaccine. I think it's very unlikely that any vaccinated Australians will be travelling here in January
