I wonder how much success they will have with this program. People with assets got to that point by making prudent financial decisions. It’s very dumb thinking to make very high dollar requirements because they think people with money will spend lots of money. Just because you have lots of money doesn’t mean you want to give it to greedy people. My personal decision is to never pay more than I think is fair. It also means not being asked to jump through too many hoops. Usually, the people who spend the most don’t have so much. For those people, traveling is a time to live a very large life. For people with lots of money it’s not necessary. They live big lives in their own countries every day. I think the appeal in this program is for desperate people who can find any way to beg, borrow or steal their way into Thailand.
There could be several reasons to explain the failure. Her husband might speak at a slower than normal cadence. He might speak in very simple sentences or even speak non-standard English, omitting grammar necessary for standard English. Lastly, there could could be differences in dialect between her husband and the tester.
Lesley Tay You are correct. The devil is always in the details. My Thai gf keeps hanging her hat on the announcements regarding Phuket and October 1. I’m constantly telling her that there’s too much that has to be done, rules to be set, places to live, procedures for contact tracing, test facilities/processes, etc. I believe it MAY begin during October, but not October 1.
