What should I say at immigration when entering Thailand on a DTV workcation?

Hey all! Thanks for sharing all your info. I got approved for my DTV workcation from US. I went the DTV route as I was denied access to BKK about a month ago.

Now that I have the proper documentation I am planning to re-enter BKK tomorrow. Of course I am nervous now 😅even though I did everything correctly. When I arrive and they ask me how long I would I like to stay and what will I be doing. Shouldn’t I be able to say 180 days and that I will be enjoying the country and working as a digital nomad on my computer?

Any recommendations on how to best answer these questions?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of being approved for a Digital Work Vacation (DTV) visa and their nervousness about re-entering Bangkok. They plan to state they want to stay for 180 days and will be working as a digital nomad. Community members provided advice, encouraging honesty and recommending having proof of accommodation ready. Some suggested that mentioning flexibility in work plans might help, and a light-hearted comment referred to having hotel booking details ready to show at immigration.

normally they do not but if they do tell them you work remotely so your plans can change from 1-2 months, they should always give you 180days stamp for DTV.....so if they do give you less then ask them politely to correct ...dont leave the counter before you confirm the date on stamp on your passport is correct

How long did the process take in the USA? Was it through the embassy in Washington DC or one of the regional consulates?

Do you have a hotel booking or a proof of accomodation like a rental contract ? They might ask you for your adress in Thailand.

It is ok to say that you are staying 180 days as a digi nomad. Good chance you won't be asked anything but if you are just give them the truth in a simple, direct answer.
