That was quick if including visiting the bank, and an 1 hour lunch break. Renewing at the L counter alone could take longer than that sometimes!

Bangkok bank takes up to 4 working days to process the 12 month statement, It is issued at the main branch, and its carrier literally has to deliver it to the branch you visit. Other major banks issue it in 5 minutes.

You can split your statement in half, like requesting the first 6 months now, introduce your spouse or friend to the bank staff that he/ she will collect it for you and request the other 6 months that you ca get it right away when you return.

Make sure you show up at immigration along with your agent. (For your photo taken and stored in their database) If your agent send only your passport to other locations, you would have to stick with that location and their service forever. It's not a fake extension. You could leave and reenter anytime at the airports, borders ,but you can't renew it elsewhere later on.

you are probably right. But they did request the 90 day check in from us at CW in order to issue it for transportation office. Thanks for your comment tho.

For purposes of getting a Thai driving license, or purchase/sell a vehicle? You need to file your 90 day report first. Then immigration can issue residence certificate for you.

The lastest person who stirred Immigration was Mr. Big Joke. US embassy stop issuing certificate of incomes, the 5 month 800K minimum balance was introduced when he was in charge.

Make appointment with your US embassy in Bangkok very early. They are fully booked most of the time. You need a letter to confirm your single status. You need it to get a marriage license in Thailand.

Marriage license legalized from your embassy in Thailand. Then ask for a seal of approval from Ministry of Foreign in Bangkok. If your embassy wouldn't legalized it, you have to fly back to your country to get it authenticated by Thai embassy in your country. Or consult an agency. I heard it is 15k+ bahts and marriage license still needed even so.
