Could I have done it all myself? Probably so, but isn't retirement supposed to be about less stress and not more stress in your life? Absolutely use an agent! You'll get support now as well as in the future when you need to do reporting, renewal, and so on.

Make sure you show up at immigration along with your agent. (For your photo taken and stored in their database) If your agent send only your passport to other locations, you would have to stick with that location and their service forever. It's not a fake extension. You could leave and reenter anytime at the airports, borders ,but you can't renew it elsewhere later on.

You can. You just have to break the extension, get a visa outside of Thailand and then re-start the process.Cindy *******

yep that's good advice, I didn't know you could do that....I'll ask about that when I go to the place im using....I sent it off last time and got somewhere in the sticks I've never been to! Ha ha
