This DTV visa is basically a way to get whomever wants to stay in Thailand for up to 5 years as long as they don't work in Thailand for a Thai company. Not so complicated to understand. The government is benefiting from it regardless just by people enrolling to courses and training and spending money on accommodation and other expenses

Depends what you're cooking. For Pad Thai you'll need short course. For masaman curry longer course.

Right, but for the non O you need a Thai bank account and money in the bank. For the DTV it sounds like you just need to apply lol

This is not an 'extension'. It's re activation. Two different things. Extension can be done while your still IN the country. If you need to leave the country it's 're activation"

So that's 5 years stay for one short cooking course? 🤔 And when and where do you pay the 1900B for the re activation of the visa?

Sure is. I think from the Thai government is a way to generate more money from visa fees, and income for locals so they don't really care

I just can't see how people can stay 5 years for enrolling for a 2 weeks cooking class. It's bizarre
