DTV approved from Yangon.

Along with passport and recent photo, I submitted only a screenshot of my bank balance and my 2 year remote work contract from a company in Myanmar.

emailed to come in for interview 4 days later.

I was way over prepared for the interview with many months of bank statements, visa history in Myanmar, photos of me at work, website, copies of my degrees....

Interview lasted about 3 minutes. They had about 20 people report at the same time and you had to take a queue number and wait. They asked me how long I would be in Thailand, (I'm not sure, but at least 90 days) and would I do any work in Thailand other than remote work (No). That was it.

Approval notice within the hour.

It was the same day the notice came from Yangon that they were not going to issue any further tourist visas. The company that my contract is from anticipates having trouble in the future with business visa as well. So this post maybe isn't that useful for this group. I couldn't find much info about applying in Yangon when I was researching in anticipation of my application, so I thought I would just record my experience.

Has anyone had any luck opening ANY kind of bank account in the last two weeks, specifically in Bangkok? If so list bank and branch or your reply isn't worth much. I've been to about 25 branches in two days.

Hey! Does anyone have examples of what a business registration letter should look like ? Is there a global template?

I have been asked for additional documents and one of the things is ā€œplease provide a business registration document showing the company name, the name of the legal representative, and a company profile that includes details about its history, vision, mission, products and achievementsā€

I am under time pressure to get things resubmitted and Iā€™m not sure my company will be able to get it to me in time. Would putting stuff together from the terms and conditions suffice?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

*IMPORTANT Question about hotel booking for DTV application (Hanoi)

Hi everyone! I'm currently preparing my DTV application and had a quick question about the hotel booking requirement.

For the proof of accommodation, is it okay if I only show a booking for 2 nights at a hotel in Hanoi? I do plan to stay longer, as I know the process can take 1ā€“2 weeks, but this initial hotel is just to get started.

Or would it be better to book accommodation for a longer period, maybe for the average processing time so that it looks more complete for the application?

Hi everyone. I have read the posts and Iā€™m writing this just to confirm I understand. Iā€™m here on the DTV visa. I plan on going out of the country every 90 days (slightly before my 90days). If I do this continuously will I ever have to report for the 90 day in person reporting?

Hi everyone,

As many of us who have lived in Thailand for a number of years know, immigration rules can shift without much warning. I wanted to hear your thoughts on the new DTV visa, particularly regarding future enforcement.

How long do you think it will be before immigration officers at airports or land borders start requesting more detailed proof from DTV visa holdersā€”such as:

ā€“ Proof of ongoing funds (e.g., showing that the 500,000 THB minimum is still available)

ā€“ Evidence that remote workers are still actively working for the company they listed on their application

ā€“ For those who applied through the Soft Power route, confirmation that they are actually attending classes or programs (e.g., signed attendance or progress reports)

Do you think this type of enforcement is likely in the near future, or will things stay relatively hands-off?
