Is a 2-night hotel booking sufficient for my DTV application in Hanoi?

*IMPORTANT Question about hotel booking for DTV application (Hanoi)

Hi everyone! I'm currently preparing my DTV application and had a quick question about the hotel booking requirement.

For the proof of accommodation, is it okay if I only show a booking for 2 nights at a hotel in Hanoi? I do plan to stay longer, as I know the process can take 1–2 weeks, but this initial hotel is just to get started.

Or would it be better to book accommodation for a longer period, maybe for the average processing time so that it looks more complete for the application?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a DTV visa in Hanoi, it's acceptable to provide a hotel booking for just 2 nights. While some users have successfully done this, it's important to include a cover letter explaining your intention to extend your stay or move to a different accommodation if needed. However, be aware that authorities may ask for further proof of your location, which could impact processing times.

Yes that will be fine. I applied with only 4 nights booked. I did add a coverletter explaining that I would either extend my stay in that hotel or book another one depending on my experience. I also stated that I understand I have to stay in their jurisdiction until a decision is made. I got it approved, no further questions asked.

It's ok to submit a 2 day booking but they may request further evidence of your location which would reset the approval time.

There is no proof of accomodation in the country you're applying in-criteria in the application.

You can upload proof of accomodation in Thailand, but that is irrelevant for the DTV visa.

The embassy just needs you to prove that you are in the location you are applying in.
