You will be deported yes where to will depend on the airline I guess ?

Your best option is to go the thai embassy in Cambodia and try to get yourself a real visa (Tourist Visa?)

They tried the same with me in phuket 3 years ago, I was on a tourist visa in that time and when I changed to a long term visa they didn't want insurance from me but I decided to go elsewhere.

yes I understand but I am interested to know if people who let the volounteer visa expire and left the country and them try to return on a visa exempt still face issues entering Thailand or not ?

ok the problem i am having is i cannot contact anybody at the school, the school is closed and because it is closed nobody is answering the phone there
