Question with regards to the marriage visa,

I know there is 2 options 1 where you show 400k funds in a Thai bank account and 1 where you show 40k a month going into your THAI bank account.

My question is when you show the 40k does that have to be just a 40,000 transaction from your personal overseas bank account going into your thai bank account each month ? and how many months (backdate) do you have to show you have been receiving/sending the 40k a month ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To qualify for a Thai marriage visa based on monthly income, you must demonstrate regular transfers of at least 40,000 baht each month into your Thai bank account. This requirement must be met continuously for the past 12 months, with funds transferred from your overseas bank account.

In order to use monthly income on a yearly extension based on marriage to a thai; You show monthly transfers of a minimum of 40K baht a month coming into your thai account from abroad each month every month for the previous 12 months.

Tod Daniels. Just out of interest, if working and earning more than 40k per month, does this suffice in lieu of monthly transfers?

working legally inside the country with a valid work permit is indeed a way to show salary (of at least 40K) as proof of funds AND you only need to show the last 3 months of proof of that to get the year extension BUT you also show a pile of paperwork from your employer, tax documents, articles listing the directors, the thais they employ to offset hiring a foreigner, etc.

It's quite a few hoops to jump thru but it can be done.

Sadly most employers are less than helpful if you're getting an extension based on marriage using your job as the reason because they know that if you lose your job you still keep the marriage extension and they don't have control of you like they would if you were on a non-B extension

yes if it is in thailand. They will still want to see Pay receipts or deposits into your account. Probably your income tax too.
