I owned a car when I first came to Thailand but not for the last 10 years, taxis and public transport is as quick and a lot cheaper in the long especially in and around Bkk

Yes, he only has his Visa on arrival which is good for 45 days, then he can get it extended by 30 days, in the meantime he needs to get a new Ed visa. If he doesn't he will need to do a border run to get another VOA.

Similar, booked the 20kg baggage allowance when flying with Honk Kong air through booking.com but they said they never received it to I had to pay HK$3000!! These apps are scamming everyone, but there is no way to police their activities or complain.

You don't need a bank account for most visa UNLESS it's based on marriage or retirement.
