I'm considering applying for the Thai residence permit, what I would like to know is:

1) has anyone here applied for one and has any information.

2) Are there any agencies that can assist with the process.?

3) What is the cost these days?

4) How long does the process take?

Any comments or helpful information would be greatly appreciated. Also just to reiterate, I am inquiring about a residents permit NOT citizenship.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around applying for a Thai residence permit, specifically distinguishing it from a visa. Key points include the need for informative experiences about the application process, costs, timelines, and available assistance from agencies. There are varying opinions on the definitions and requirements of residency versus citizenship, with some suggesting resources like Facebook groups dedicated to these topics.

You are thinking of a residency certificate, PR is an entirely different ball game and takes months sometimes it can even take years. It costs a lot more than 300฿ too.

over there they deal with TPR ( Thailand Permanent Residence) too, in fact even I want to apply it, but as I don't work so I might not be eligible for it

There are entire Facebook groups dedicated to this. You're not going to get information about this from this group. People here need visas and anyone who doesn't need one doesn't have a reason to be here and would have left.

It's NOT a visa and negates needing a visa as you're classified as a resident.
