I'm currently working full-time and have a work permit and visa but I am considering going full-time online with the DTV visa, is this possible? What would I need to do? Can I prove my work by using a, screenshot of my students, and a spreadsheet of my income etc?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) can only be obtained if you work for a non-Thai company with non-Thai clients or students. You cannot use income or students from your current Thai employment to apply for the DTV. To switch, you would need to provide documentation of your remote work, such as a company registration, client contracts, and financial records showing legitimate income under your own company. Switching from your current work permit while maintaining employment in Thailand could lead to complications.

The fact you want to do it doesn't seem material. You would need to set up a company, have contracts with students in your company name, generating income, show that in your company accounts. Many embassies will want to see your company registration and some want to see a tax return from your home country showing the company is legitimately earning.

You can't use students or financial information pertaining to your thai employment for this. So you may be able to do this in the future but I doubt you could right now

Currently I am teaching in Thailand and employed full time but I want to teach Western students online full time but will that allow me to apply for the DTV

Do you have your own company or working for a non-thai company? Screenshot of your customers and spreadsheet of your income? You need a company and invoices.

And maybe you will have a big problem if you go this path, if they see that you have a working vidlsa and work... Be careful. Better to find another solution.

Do the soft skills version and keep Thailand out of your business.

I'm not understanding something here. You want to use the students and income that you get from your current visa and work permit to apply for the DTV? I don't see how that could possibly work. What am I missing?

Very risky movement. The Embassy officials are trained to detect this kind of things. Good luck.

If you are currently only working with European students online, how do you have a work permit?

: I have read the post. The MFA is going to question what has changed for you to go from a work permit/visa to digital nomad. Did you have a job in Thailand that you no longer have, etc.? They might want to see something. In regard to proof of employment, you need a letter from your employer. If you are contractor, others have been required to submit letters from their clients. In your case, I assume that would be letters from your students. Depending on where you apply, you might need to show tax invoices.

Can only get the DTV for work outside of Thailand. A letter from your company that you work remotely and for a Non Thai company with non Thai students/clients.

Ok, you can get the DTV with your students and evidence of you employed by a non Thai company/your own business.

You have to ask the excact embassy, you will be applying at.

But why rock the boat, when you have a current set-up that works.

This is not how it works. You need invoices, tax declarations. Nothing like spreadsheets or only screenshot or they will deny you.

Don't mind on fake the documents or you can be on a big trouble also..

Better to find another path or solution.

Maybe you can find a cooking or muay thai school to get the DTV. But I don't recommend you the workation path.

could I use a, screen shot of my students?

You can use a screenshot of students as part of a portfolio, what proof you need differs if you work for a company or you working for yourself.
