but you could do that with every expense in life. May as well live in the the cheapest possible accommodation and eat as cheap as possible then and invest the rest and never enjoy life
You'd need a visa after you've used your 2 exempt land crossings. Agents can't even get around the limit. Possibly the only option is to apply for TV every 3 months even if you don't use it.
it's a bit of a pain, but pretty cheap. Think it's about 2500B with a border run company from Bangkok to Cambodia for Philippines passport holders. About 10hrs all up.
Maybe try searching the group for "agents" as there's a few posts with recommendations. Mostly in Pattaya, but a few in other locations too.
If from visa exempt country, then do a border run to get 30 days, can extend for another 30 at immigration. Hopefully that will allow you time to get a long term visa sorted
I wasn't too sure about samui's requirements, so had a quick search and a few posts say samui accept extension requests when you have less than 14 days. Theses posts were from about 6 months ago, but hopefully still accurate.
Most offices allow you to apply 30 days before it expires. A couple only allow you to apply in the last week before it expires, Jomtien and koh samui I believe.
having to leave and re-enter every 90 days is only for a multiple entry marriage visa. If you get a 12 month extension in Thailand there's no need to leave.
If money's not an issue the retirement visa is reportedly a lot less hassle than a marriage visa just requires 800k in the bank vs 400k.
