You can start the process in Thailand but as mentioned, you’ll need to show visa stamp & accommodation in Vietnam when submitting

It’s an e-Visa, in other words it’s not a printed stamp in your passport but a digital one. Just show the e-Visa when on entry

All done online. Even the actual visa is an e-Visa so it won’t appear in your passport. The stamp will refer to DTV e-Visa and you will have the evidence on your portal

Yes… super simple.

The minor mistakes I made prolonged the process.

I had taken a photo of a passport sized picture for my profile picture - clearly not good enough quality. And I only supplied 3 months instead of the 6 .. so this delayed my application. The rest is easy too

Not likely.

I think the proof of work is secondary to the proof of financial independence (the savings amount) & the ability to pay the fee. It’s possible that every embassy has a different approach though.
