We have friends who go through the marriage visa process every year. It's awful! Not worth it. Having to take the headman of the village with you, SO much paperwork, and headache.

If you have the money in the bank, DON'T do it!

We travel with one backpack each.

We did ours ourselves. Went to immigration, got the forms, filled them out, got our landlord to sign it and give a copy of her ID and sign the copy. Go back to immigration and file it.

They might have you take a photo outside your house with the house numbers. Ask for all the documents you'll need when you get the forms. They will give you a list.

Yes. We know that now. He has a US account on wise, but the firm with the pension recently changed its rules, and doesn't accept wise like everyone else.

We did, and the bank will not transfer to wise. 😢 Only a US bank or they'll send a check. This whole thing has been a nightmare. Even the social security office will transfer to wise!

Thanks for the info. My husband no longer has a US account. We will have to wait the 45 days IF they accept it.
