Thai Embassies come under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and issue Visas. Thai Immigration come under the Ministry of the Interior and manage entries to Thailand, internal Visas and Extensions of Stay. There is very little communication between the two and they often contradict each other when one tries to communicate about something that is the responsibility of the other.
