Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm currently in Thailand but planning to apply for the new DTV visa. I'm thinking of leaving the country for a few weeks to apply from somewhere else.

I have a couple of questions and would really appreciate your help:

1. Which country or embassy is the fastest and easiest for processing the DTV visa? I was considering Kuala Lumpur, but Iโ€™ve read mixed reviews. If you've done it there (or elsewhere), could you share your experience and how long it took?

2. Is it possible to complete the whole process online, or do I need to go to the embassy in person? Or does it vary by location or specific officer?

Thanks a lot in advance for any tips or info! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™‚

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Thailand is seeking advice on applying for the new DTV visa while considering leaving the country for a few weeks. They inquire about the fastest and easiest country or embassy for processing this visa, expressing particular interest in Kuala Lumpur but noting mixed reviews. Community responses indicate that the application process can be done online through the respective consulate based on location, although in-person visits are needed to pay fees in countries like Laos. Some users share their experiences of successfully obtaining the visa in Kuala Lumpur within two weeks, mentioning additional requirements.

We did ours in Kuala Lumpur and they did ask for a lot of extra information but we received ours within 2 weeks! And it was all online (the initial form) & then request for extra information!

In Laos you apply online then go to the Embassy/Consulate in person to pay (this is the cheapest application fee in any country)

It's all done online but using the consulate that serves the location you are physically in. The Malaysian consulates are fussy
