TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is in Isan and is planning to visit Nong Khai, contemplating a day trip to Laos. They are uncertain if they can re-enter Thailand with 21 days remaining on their 60-day visa stamp amidst new regulations regarding the digital arrival card (TDAC). Community members provide varying insights, clarifying that exiting Thailand typically leads to losing the existing visa stamp, which may necessitate a new entry stamp, potentially for a shorter duration.

I would not bother, I have been to vientiane many times visa purposes it's dire give it a miss and nongkhai immigration officers are very strict at moment
It's not a visa. It's a free entry stamp, and yes it's 60 days

If you don't have a visa to return on, then it is a border bounce, whether that's how you intend it or not. Nong Khai currently requires you to stay in Laos for 2 nights if you want to leave and return using visa exempt without a visa.

Thats thing i have to fill in a DTAC but its saying it has to be done 3 days before entering and i am only going on a day trip over the boarder site seeing
I will ask imigration tomorrow when i get there in the morning its a bit of a hard one thus with this new rule
I am sure it is anytime within 3 days of arrival and NOT 3 days prior to arrival.
Upon exiting Thailand your 60 visa exempt will cease to be and you'll get a new visa exempt upon re-entry. I don't know if that will be for either 30 or 60 days though.
no. u dont have to fill it out 3 days before. u have to fill it out before u pass the immigration. its just a digital arrival card. but u cant fill it out sooner than 3 days of your arrival

Yes you can but you will have to fill in a new DTAC

Your 60 days will be lost when you exit Thailand. Whether or not you will have an issue coming back in will depend on your history inside Thailand

If you leave, you must do a new online card
They’re are no exceptions and you will start your 60 days over

It says what i can see its got to be done 3 days before i just thought if its only a day trip it would be ok i dont want another 60 day stamp

Ask Thai immigration on the way out whether you use the same stamp on the way in. TDAC will be required though I’m sure.

You must file a TDAC before returning and no you’ll hopefully be stamped back in on a 60 stamp or could be denied it’s up to your travel history
