There comes a point with the BOI where text communication no longer helps. At that point you need to pick up the phone and call during their business hours. That tends to get a much better response.
nothing will change. It will all be out of the news in a few months and back to business as usual. The only thing that will remain is banks doing more due diligence for new accounts because of the law change that holds them financially liable for fraud and scam losses.
they can and still are. They're just using bank branches outside of Pattaya where the spotlight was shining. Many agents are now putting their customers on a bus to Bangkok to go to branches there. The only thing the new rules are doing is making it more difficult for people doing it themselves.
I guess it's a good thing the US and the UK do not make the laws about entering Thailand. It's Thailand that does that. But yes, it will always be the airline that is the problem, as they will likely have a blanket policy that does not take individual country rules into account.
You just renew your passport however you want. Then when you enter Thailand you carry both your old passport and your new passport. They will look at your old passport to make sure it matches the passport number on your visa, but they will put your entry stamp into your new passport. Continue carrying both passports until your DTV expires.
