Hello,

I’d like to inquire about my first 90-day reporting for my retirement visa in Bangkok. The date in my passport is listed as 14th June. Am I required to report exactly on that date, or is it possible to do so a few days earlier?

Also, could you please let me know what documents or requirements I should prepare for the reporting?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry was about the first 90-day reporting for a retirement visa, specifically whether it must be done exactly on the due date and what documents are needed. The consensus from the community indicates a reporting window of 14 days before to 7 days after the due date, which in this case is 14th June. For the first report, it has to be done in person at an immigration office, requiring minimal documents such as the completed TM47 form and the passport. After the first reporting, renewals can often be completed online, although the rules may vary by province.

Just never overstay. Immigration issues is a huge thing in the world now, best not go there.

If have wife or TGF, just send them with your passport. I personally can’t stand the billion small flies & heat/humidity (Isan).

Not doing a 90 day report and being on overstay are two very different things

14 June coming so from now and up to 1 week after is okay but get your butt in there don’t gives you time if anything else required

You can report online if it's not your first reporting. If it's your first reporting, you have to go to the concerned immigration office in person. It's very simple and doesn't need to provide any documents. I just completed my online reporting since it's my second reporting.
James ******
at least they didn't say they would kick you out

First of all you should tell people which province you are in. Because it’s your first time I don’t think online report will work. After this you can do it online 14-7 days before it expires. In Chiang Mai you have a very convenient drive through window - all you need is 90 day filled in application form TM47, the TM 30 should be in your passport anyway and your passport - takes about 2 minutes.

And don’t wait until your last day - you can do it a week before expiration.

I'm in Chiang Rai they were very clear in explaining when I should report. They stapled the when to report paper to the back of my passport, and explained that no more paperwork needed , just report within 15 days before the due date until 7 days after. They speak english extremely well and the instructions we're clear. It was my first 90 day report.

So how do you make notifications

Can it be done on line

And what do you have to supply in documents

@Alan *****
first 90 day report needs to be done at the office, after that, they can be done online

I'm reading it correctly? Now you have to pay 200THB additional for each overdue day for late 90 day reporting !?

@Bernd **********
I'm not late right? I'm supposed to go on 14th June. Why do I need to 200 baht for overdue
Graham ******
@Maria ********
The 2000B fine is if you do not report by the 21-Jun i.e. outside the 15 days before and 7 days after window
Brandon ************
@Bernd **********
All late 90 day reports are fined 2000 baht, whether they are 8 days late or 8 months late.
Bernd ***********
@Brandon ***********
but here it said " and with an additional 200Thb for each day " !
Brandon ************
@Bernd **********
You can fight with the immigration officer if you want, but the fine is the same for everyone, 2000 baht.
Bernd ***********
@Brandon ***********
Brandon you don't get my point.

I'm asking if it's now the normal 2000 fine -plus- 200 THB for each late day!

If it's additional for each late day of course it matters now if you are late 8 days or 8 weeks.
Brandon ************
@Bernd **********
It's 2000 baht. Period. End of story. What part of 8 days or 8 months is 2000 baht is confusing? Nothing has changed. This is the same thing they've stapled into passports for years, and the fine has been the same all that time.
Bernd ***********
@Brandon ***********
Brandon, please have a look at the picture, the part I have circled in red. That's what I'm talking about , nothing else.

Have a nice day and bye for now...
Graham ******
@Bernd **********
That infographic is not correct, it's 2000B only.
Pat *****
@Brandon ***********
picture says 5000 baht and 200 baht for each day
Brandon ************
@Pat ****
I know what the picture says, but that's not what happens in real life. It's 2000 baht from starting from day 8.
Brett *****
@Bernd **********
why be late
Bernd ***********
@Brett ****
I'm not late but asking if the rule have changed....
Greg *****
15 days before and electronic possible if already handled the first at Immigration, then 7 after but electronic no longer available
Greg *****
Yes make sure your TM.30 matches the address for TM.47

Are you required to notify immigration within 24 hours if you have been registered in another province and return to your place of residence before you have to report for 90 days?

This also applies if you have been away for a day to a neighboring country?.
Brandon ************
@Kurt **********
you need to ask your immigration office. Each office has different policies about TM30
Damien ********
@Brandon ***********
he asked about 90 day reporting not TM 30 ???
Graham ******
@Damien *******
He's asking what to do BEFORE 90 day reporting therefore the TM30
Brandon ************
@Damien *******
I'm replying to a comment that asked about "notify immigration within 24 hours" which is TM30. He's asking about the impact of TM30 on your 90-day report.
Kurt ***********
@Brandon ***********
OK. Thank you.
Brandon ************
14 days before, until 7 days after. That's the window for 90 day reporting.
Phil *****
@Brandon ***********
what if you are out of the country on holiday for the whole window ?
Brandon ************
@Phil ****
Why would you report that you're in Thailand when you're not? A 90 day report is for reporting when you spend 90 CONSECUTIVE DAYS IN THAILAND. If you're not in Thailand, then you clearly did not spend 90 consecutive days in Thailand.
Phil *****
@Brandon ***********
because I live here on a retirement visa . I had just asked when I returned at immigration officer at airport if I need to report as my date was in a few days . The officer said yes I need to because it’s just letting them know I still live in the same place .
Brandon ************
@Phil ****
The airport officer was talking about TM30, not 90-day report (TM47)
