if you had a TM30 and are returning from out of the country to live at the same address, immigration and Chiang Mai will reissue a TM30 with no other papers than your passport and your prior TM 30. I have done this many times

I imagine you are familiar with scanning a QR code received electronically, such via email or a Line message etc. Perhaps that doesn't work for eSims, or maybe it does. In case it might, and excuse me if you already know this (and you probably do)...

Capture the image of the QR code from your email or your message with a download option or a screenshot. Use a QR reader to scan, use the option to use an image in your gallery, select the saved QR code image - it should be able to recognize it. Unless the eSim has a different sequence which doesn't make it so easy.

Be careful with your counts of days. Day of arrival is Day 1, so 60 days stamp is really 59 days; 30 day stamp is really 29 days.

I show the IO my reentry permit and after getting my passport back, I proceed past the counter. I then check the new entry stamp to confirm it has the correct end date before I leave the immigration area

perhaps you are confused about the difference between the validity of the visa - which simply gives you that much time to ENTER the country. Then when you enter on that single entry tourist visa, you get a stamp indicating you are permitted to stay for 60 days. So the visa is not going to allow you to stay for 90 days, you get stamped in for 60 days, which technically is only 59 days, and you can extend that in-country for 30 more days.

Nah, anyone can go to the CM Immigration site and use most of the same QR codes. If i post them here, few people will bother to look at them or use them.

This might apply, you would need to very carefully read the requirements to determine how the days are counted, it is not a simple determination of what is considered physically present in a foreign country.

Who qualifies for the foreign earned income exclusion?

A U.S. citizen or a U.S. resident alien who is physically present in a foreign country or countries for at least 330 full days during any period of 12 consecutive months.
