What Are the Requirements for Extending My OA Visa in Chiang Mai?

I have a few questions regarding applying for an extension to stay based on my OA visa on an American passport. I have checked the archives and cannot find the needed info.

Does anyone have a recent list of the requirements for a first extension of stay application for the Chiang Mai immigration office? If not, I will go to CM Immigration to get that.

My original OA Visa expired in November 2019. I left Thailand and re-entered in October 2019, so my current permit to stay stamp is valid until October 25, 2020.

My specific questions are:

1.The original OA Visa only required proof of funds in an account in my home country. Does my application for renewal require the 800,000 Baht deposit in a Thai bank account, or do I once again show proof of funds in my home country?

2. If I need to provide proof of locally deposited funds, do they need to be in the account for 2 or 3 months prior to my renewal. I'm thinking it's only 2 months because this is my first application for an extension of stay - but it could possibly be three months since it's for a continued stay in the country.

3. If I do need funds in a local deposit, does the 2 or 3 month aging requirement count from the day I apply or the date of the expiration of my current permit to stay stamp?

4. Finally, how many days in advance of the expiration of my extension to stay should I apply for the renewal? Meaning a maximum number of days in advance and a minimum number of days in advance.

I am aware of the health insurance requirements and do not need any further information about this at this time.

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on the requirements for extending their OA visa at the Chiang Mai immigration office. Specific questions include whether proof of funds must be in a Thai bank account or can be in their home country, the duration funds must be maintained in the bank account prior to application, as well as the recommended timeline for applying for the extension before their current permit expires.

This is changing from an O-A visa to an O visa and can be done without leaving the country?

Extension to stay based on OA, since it seems unlikely I could change to Non O, which normally requires leaving the country. But I just got a quote for 7,700 baht for an acceptable health insurance policy w 200k deductible which I only need for this purpose, as I plan to keep my Cigna policy. So, 7,700 tacked onto costs for a one year extension to stay based on an OA visa. Not happy.

1. You need to show proof of funds in a Thai bank account on your name

2. it must be at least 2 months prior application date a minimum of 800.000 thb in your bank account and it must stay there at least 3 months after application and the rest of the year not less than 400.000 Thb

3. see 2

4. In Chang Mai you can apply during the last 45 days of your valid stay.

For the last updated list, best is to visit the office and ask the hand out

so he would only need to put the funds in 2 months before his first extention is due? Not need to show the 800K in the bank for 12 months before the extension?

Now that Robert Lagas clarified this applies for my first extension of stay, I understand the requirements. Take note, although this may already be clear to you, it is 2 months before the application date (which I select within an acceptable time period), not the expiration date of the current permit to stay stamp, so it will be more than 2 months. But defintely not a full year. Then I follow the guidelines for the next year as Robert outlined as has been posted on this forum before. This is different than proof of monthly income.
