yeah, I tried to get a tourist visa for my wife about 3 years ago. After we were turned down by the US Embassy in BKK I spoke with an immigration attorney. He told me it would be much easier for me to move back to the US and get her a green card than a tourist visa but I have no desire to live in the US so that's a non-starter. I had a buddy in NY marry a Ukrainian girl maybe 3 years ago. He hired a service to help with the green card and it still took 18 months to get her visa.
If she has a lot of money in the bank, owns her own house here, has school age children here, has a job here it is possible. Basically, she needs significant ties to the community that will make US Immigration believe she will return to Thailand after her vacation. Even then, it's complicated and won't happen quickly. Good luck!
Looks like you are in the US trying to call TL. I use the "Text Now" app from the Play Store to call the US for free and it works great. I just checked their international rates and US to Thailand is 4.8¢ per minute. Maybe you should give that a try?
I have an AIS plan that gives me 40 GB of data each month for 588 THB. This is currently equivalent to 13.5 GBP, 18 USD, or 25 AUD. This is very cheap compared to prices in most western countries. I've had this plan for over 4 years and I've never come close to reaching my 40 GB of data.
I had a friend who had their health insurance. He had a stroke and was in the ICU. They would not pay the hospital directly for his care. His long term girlfriend ended up taking the money out of her personal account to pay. He died quite quickly and she told me that they only paid about 40% of the costs and that involved many hours on the phone for her to get that much refunded.
I'm farang married to a Thai woman and I've been thinking about buying a house with my wife. I consulted an attorney about who gets the house if my wife were to precede me in death. The attorney told me that if my wife were to die the court would give me 1 year to sell the house and I alone would receive all proceeds from the sale. However, if I were you I would seek competent legal counsel on this matter and not hearsay from a FB group. Good luck with your endeavors!
