TLDR : Answer Summary
The user missed their 90-day reporting deadline and attempted to report online within the grace period. However, community members clarified that the grace period applies only to in-person reporting, and they warned that online reporting is not acceptable if done late. Several comments discussed potential fines for missing the deadline, advice on going to immigration, and the handling of TM30 forms when staying in unregistered hotels.

In fact you can download the form TM30 from the immigration website (2 pieces!) and fill it out yourself, as long as your landlord sign and stamps it. With that you can go to Immigration. Done it myself in Bangkok some time ago.

For the 90 day report, when staying in a small Hotel that is not registered on the TM.30 system, is a receipt from the Hotel enough to satisfy the Immigration folks, does a receipt serve as the TM.30 in this case? Many thanks

what do you mean by receipt?

There are 3 different proofs of TM30 you can use, each one from a different way of filing.

I don't really know what you mean by "not registered on the TM30 system."

It takes 5 minutes for someone to register for the online system. If they are not registered then it's by choice, or they are lying to you and they just don't want to register. The biggest reason for people to not want to register and do a TM30 (even though it's required by law for them to do) is because they are not paying the proper taxes for lodging foreigners and don't want the authorities to know they are doing so.

Yes- there is many Hotels that don't do the right thing. They told me: They can't do it- I can't make them do it, but they gave me a hand written receipt and their phone number etc to call when at immigration, if required. I guess its the old chestnut- rock and a hard place. Do you think immigration will accept this signed receipt that I've paid in full for one month, is my question- many thanks.
Brandon ************
@Mma ******
absolutely not. That's not a TM30.

Some immigration offices might let you file a TM30 yourself, but the only office where self-file is confirmed is Bangkok.

You say you're going to immigration on Monday. Are you going because of the 90 day report, or something else?

If you're only going for the 90 day report, don't waste your time. Just deal with it and pay the fine next time you need to use immigration. The fine is the same whether you are 1 day late or 6 months late.

Too late, you cannot report late online only in person
Brandon ************
The grace period does not apply to online reporting.

If you want to report online you have from 14 days before, until the due date.

The 7 day after grace period is for in-person reporting only.
