Not if they set up an usufruct which is legal in Thailand and offers a fair amount of protection to the 'farang' in the event of divorce/death of the wife/girlfriend. Google it.
You can do it up to 7 days late but better to keep it up to date, nobody knows what the expectation might be when the amnesty ends but imagine the situation if they say everyone has 7 days to get back on track?
You might be able to find a job, I guess processing the visa, especially any requirement to exit would be the difficulty. Hopefully progress on borders opening by August but no guarantees.
Very few hold Permanent Residence. Those on retirement, marriage visas/extensions aren't permanent residents. Some on marriage may hold work permits but it's nothing like a majority.
