The conversation revolves around the challenges faced by foreigners, particularly those married to Thai nationals or with Thai children, regarding entry into Thailand during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several comments express concerns over the restrictions on tourism and the prioritization of certain visa holders, such as Non-B and Non-O, over general tourists. The discussion emphasizes the need for clarity on entry requirements, especially concerning familial relationships and support for children with Thai nationality.

This is good news as hopefully I can do a border run and get a new stamp without too much hassle.

I don't see why I should when I have a visa that is valid until February 2021? I have already applied for a job also and waiting for the work permit. However I will not extend based on working as if there is a problem with the job the extension will end too.

If you can extend based on work that would be a good option. If your extension is cancelled later your visa would still be valid, and things might have opened up more at that stage.
you have a visa, but that doesn't necessarily entitle you to do border runs. Honestly I would make your plans around the idea you won't be able to because I think it's unlikely. Look for a way to extend in country, that's your best option.
unfortunately I doubt easy border runs are going to be a thing any time soon.
(1) There are going to be a lot of restrictions on this, it's likely at a minimum you will need $100,000 insurance and have to do a mandatory 14 day quarantine (ASQ) which starts at 32,000B.
(2) You need to get into _the other_ country as well. If you wanted to go to Cambodia, for example, you'd need to be from a country they accept, have a negative Covid test before you get on the plane, and then pay a $3,000 deposit and take a Covid test. If you or no other people on the plane test positive for Covid, you should get most of that back, minus $165 or so.
This isn't really about making it easier for people to do border runs, it's for people who are stuck outside and need to get back. The 90 day multiple entry bouncing thing is sort of a loophole working around the requirements for an extension and the priority is not going to be to allow people to continue to exploit loopholes to stay here.
Is there no way you can find 400k to deposit, or 40k/month income? That really is your best bet here.
You should also have the option of a 60 day visit Thai family extension, with no financial requirements, if that helped buy you time to get money together.

Another nail in the UK coffin. Can't see Thailand letting any UK citizens in for a long time.
Ha and who was it that said only Thai nationals are prioritised when I said my wife had different information on my entry to Thailand
I mean if you are honestly that jumped up that your information is correct and no one elses information could possibly be right then please don’t give out any advice if that’s you
Remember this is thailand we are talking about and what sources you or my wife is using for up to date entry requirements is likely to be extremely different especially since our aunties and uncles work for the damn government
And there’s bound to be differences in the second hand or even third hand information you so highly regard as the be all and end all of correctness not to be disputed ffs
Well anyway whoever it was have a read of this article
It might help the next time you decide to jump in and make someone feel shit about themselves
when all I (they) want to do is be back with my (their) wife and start work and living life with my family in Thailand
I believe they issue a single entry Non Imm O at the Thai embassy in Vientiane Laos with just a birth certificate stating you're the father. Im sure they used to.
exactly you gave 2 choices when officially married in Thaïlande 🇹🇭 the Thai wife visa and the Thai child support such is even better because let’s say you get devorced after a few years you will lose your Thai wife visa but the child support visa u TIL the kids are 20 years old you will not lose your visa
If you're not married to the mother of your child you need to go through the Thai courts to obtain custody rights to get the Non Imm O visa based on dependent relatives
not right now, no. Need WP and even then it's on a case-by-case basis for people they consider to be essential to the Thai economy.

Agreed, hygeine is particularly important at this time. Non-B/O people should be prioritised over smelly backpackers.

This is what worries me: "Even for those tourists allowed to enter Thailand, they will face restrictions on where they can travel and other health safety requirements such as social distancing.
The PM suggested that it will be possible to close off the areas tourists are allowed into if there is any indication of a Covid 19 outbreak or threat to the country’s hard-won gains against the disease.
General Prayut emphasised that this will not be tourism as we knew it before or what he termed ‘liberalised tourism’.
‘Tourists will not be able to roam at will but to go only to places that are opened to them and have disease control capabilities. This is the guideline for the reception of foreign tourists, I think it is safe and better than liberalised tourism,’ the prime minister said.
This new conservative type of Thai tourism will involve limits in the number of visits allowed into the country and flight access."
To me, that says "goodbye nightlife!"
