It would be great if the up to date list was posted on each individual immigration office web page when they’re updated. It would reduce the number of people visiting the offices and reduce work for those who hand out the lists. Maybe something we could ask Richard Barrow to enquire at some point.
thanks Lloyd. Yes I’ve seen Ellie’s info sheets, they’re great! I’m really hoping someone in this group has recent specific Samut Prakan knowledge just so I can minimise immigration visits. Thank you though. 🙏
Yes, I drove a rented 150cc scooter from KC to the Had Lek border.
From the Mainland ferry port it took me almost 3 hours to the border, but just under 2 hours on the way back.
I parked near the 7-11 close to exit point.
It only took about 45mins in total to exit and return.
At the Thai exit there are guys that offer assistance and genuinely help to speed things along. No set fee, but they rely on tips. I tipped about 200bt at the end.
Once your passport is stamped out at the Thailand exit, walk about 2 minutes to the Cambodia entry desk, the guy who was assisting me, was waiting for me there, he filled out the arrival form, gave it back to me to take to the window and pay the visa fee. I told the officer at the window I was turning around immediately and he directed me to a nearby office where immigration officers asked me a few questions about why I wasn’t staying in Cambodia. I just said ‘I wish I could, but I have friends visiting in Thailand this week’. They then told me I’d have to pay 300bt for an immediate turnaround (I hear this ‘fee’ varies between 300-800bt).
Once the ‘fee’ was paid, I waited near the window for a few minutes until I was called to pick up my passport.
At this point the guy who had helped me, checked the stamps in my passport and then pointed me to the exit. At this point I tipped him.
At the Cambodia exit point the immigration officers were jovial. At the Thai entry point, no questions asked. I was re-entering on a multi entry tourist visa.
Just to note, don’t be too alarmed when the guys who help take your passport to the office for you. Just keep a watchful eye for peace of mind.
if you’re on Lanta now., ask any of the many ticket sellers there. I normally stop a day or two at various islands on the way and can’t remember each ticket price so no idea of the full price.
You could Google Satun Pakbara speed boats for times and prices.
Morchana app didn’t work for me either. I did the rapid test the Test& Go hotel gave me on the 6th day after checking out, and just sent a photo of the negative result to the hotel.
