I would try again with the cert of residence. I’m married as well and we own the house but none of the banks were interested in the koror marriage or home. Either a work permit with the address in it or the immigration letter, along with any Non O. Have your husband go to the biggest SCB, KrungThai and KBanks in your area and initiate the account opening. I think he can do it with persistence.
I’ve been to over 27 counties and not once was a bus or train ticket not accepted. Unless you’ve been denied boarding personally, your comment is worthless.
If you didn’t get a certificate of residence, get one from immigrant and try again. Perhaps let the hubby to the talking, too? Maybe they’ll see him and think big money…
so far you’ve described the process correctly—when it’s time to renew the extension after the 90 days, simply present your documents and proof of funds to immigration. Make sure you open the bank and deposits immediately after you get the non O. Avoid Bangkok bank at the moment. I recommend SCB or Kasikorn. Set up a Wise account and then you can transfer money from your home country into you Thai bank for very low fees.
damn - that sucks man. U expect this with PayPal and Wise accounts but not actual banks. You should be allowed to opt out, cash out, and close the account instantly. I hope it clears soon - maybe get every foreigner to sign some petition and file a complaint with the FCC. Likely wouldn’t result in anything though. TIT
You should be fine. My SCB is working and my situation is similar. I did go in a few weeks ago to update my info when Bangkok ,Bank started this crap show. I recommend you do the same and then you’ll feel much more at ease.
Crazy how they will give you a drivers license on a DTV tourist visa, Bur a bank, which is even more necessary, is a no go.
