Hello đź‘‹

I am currently under an extension of stay until sept 2025.

I’d like to change job in December. Both employers are in the same province.

What’s the procedure to transfer my visa to my new employer?

I had investigated this matter a few years back and remember that everything needs to be bone within 1 day but don’t know the exact procedure.

Many thanks

Hello! I have been working in Thailand for several years and have a WP and Non-B visa. I have only changed schools once before and that was during COVID times and to a school in the same province. I didn't exit the country as my school processed the paperwork in our local immigration office. I am planning to move to a different province for work but several coworkers and friends are telling me I will have to exit to Laos to change to a different Non-B visa from my new employer since it will be issued for a different province. Is this really true? If so, can anyone tell me where to find a list of the steps and expected costs? Thanks in advance!

Hi there everyone, I have a question about changing employers on a Non-B extension.

I have a friend that currently holds a Non-B and is on an extension that lasts until September 2nd. He also has a work permit that expires the same time. He is now wanting to change employers and teach at the same school that I teach at in Lampang.

So I am curious, can my friend go to the Immigration office in Chiang Mai (his old employer location) and cancel the Non-B extension, and then apply for a new Non-B extension at the Lampang Immigration office?

Both his old employer in CM and his new employer in Lampang are working and communicating together, which is great. I just want to help my friend have a smooth transition, and hopefully not need to leave the country for his new employment.

Appreciate any help and advice.

This question is being ask by a member wishing to post anonymously.

I just got my non-b visa with the school I am currently employed with. It is valid until 30 May, and they have started the process to apply for my work permit. I also got my re-entry permit because I am visiting home for the month of April. However, I want to relocate within Thailand and change schools/employers soon. Should I wait until I have my work permit? Or should I resign as soon as possible. Will they be able to cancel my non-b visa if I do quit? Or should I first find a new employer before quitting my current job?

For those on a Non-B (extension based on employment) is it going to be possible to change jobs within country if you can arrange documents on time? IE having the documents ready, cancelling work permit/extension, and then getting a new extension on the same Non-B with another school/company on the same day? Or, is pretty much everyone in that situation going to need to leave the country, get a new non-b, and come back?

👋🏼 Hello all! I am moving from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, and changing employers. Can anyone tell me the updated process for transferring provinces without leaving the country? I have a work permit and Non-B Visa extension expiring 30 June 2021.

Hello to all here:-)

Change Employer…

Do anyone have any experiences by changing an employer from a province to another province as during this time we can't go abroad to an Thai Embassy?

I'm employed until 30. September (have valid Non B Visa and valid work permit) with a good hotel management company (based Phang-Nga Provice) but laid out due to Covid. Now I found a new employer (beverage business) in Bangkok, who want to employ me from 1. October.

Basically easy situation, and new company HR had meeting with labor office in Bangkok, but government said they can't do as Immigration in Phang nga not follow up correctly, and I have to leave the country!!! I guess this person is not strong enough or experienced. Reason why I'm kindly ask for some support here

Following was the plan of them: I was at Immigration Phang Nga to cancel my visa (21 days before) for 22nd September, we had all necessary documents from old company, but they denied. Old employer should cancel WP on 22ndSeptember after Visa canceled (Stamp for 22nd) and on same day I have to be in Bangkok for new Visa and work permit… all need to happen within one day?

Both companies are 100% legal, even new company employ over 20 expats. Does anyone has similar experiences?

Is it possible to add the new company as a second employer, and after a month move out the old employer? And Non B Visa is not effected? Valid until January 2021

It makes me feel crazy, as I stay over 12 years in this country and never did something wrong.

Thanks fo any advice

Hi everyone. I am changing schools and my current employer are cancelling my work permit today. In usual circumstances, do I have to go and cancel my non b visa also at the immigration office? If so, do I have to make an appointment using the online booking form?

Hi, I'm on a non imm B visa, no work permit. It expires next month, if I cross the border, will they give me extension upon reentry? I'm also thinking of changing employer, if the new one is willing , can they give me all the required paperwork and get another visa under their company name without leaving the country? Thank you!!
