Just cross a border..any one. You're not starting over, just continuing on a different piece of land.

Unless have family w/ roots, kids in school etc.

relocating is just a bus,train, or plane away from anywhere. Travel light !

Have your US bank, or SS direct deposit into your Thai Bank acct. When 12 months passed, bank will give you letter. And you give copies of bankbook for 12 consecutive months via FTT ( foreign fund transfer. ) after 1st time its easier. I wouldn't park 800k in a virtual 0-1% interest account.

Changing location not issue.

My 1st was bkk, next year Chiangmai, then Chonburi 1 year, back to CM many years. all on income, but income must show from abroad.

IO will want Bankbook showing FTT, for 12 months. Letter from Bank.

no, just come on over, get visa on arrival, but 2 weeks is about what it takes to get over a 12 hour jet lag, then the cultural adjustment, it's then time to go home.

My 1st trip was 2 weeks, stayed 4.
