TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are a U.S. citizen planning to visit Thailand for two weeks, you do not need to apply for a visa in advance. Upon arrival, you will receive a 30-day visa exemption stamp, allowing you to stay in Thailand without the need for an additional visa.

You are good, fly in, walk through immigration, they stamp you for 30 days

30 day exempt entry which you can extend for 30 more

Not conflicting at all. Just come to Thailand and they will stamp you in 30 days visa exempt.

You can stay for 30 days, just bring lots of money

no, just come on over, get visa on arrival, but 2 weeks is about what it takes to get over a 12 hour jet lag, then the cultural adjustment, it's then time to go home.

My 1st trip was 2 weeks, stayed 4.

It’s not Visa on Arrival, it’s Visa Exempt. No visa.

stand corrected.

There's no conflicting information. If you have a US passport you can get a 30 day visa exempt stamp if you arrive without a visa
