Hi everyone. Last October I opened a bank account with Bangkok bank.
Today I got this sms.
Transfer/payment from your account X0149 of Bt 750.00 via AUTO system
Before I try contacting the bank anyone know what this 750 baht charge is for?
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A 750 baht charge reported by a user from Bangkok Bank is likely related to annual fees associated with their bank account or debit/ATM card. Community comments suggest this charge could be for an annual account maintenance fee or a yearly debit card fee, which typically falls within this price range. It's recommended that the user contact Bangkok Bank directly to clarify the nature of the charge. Variations in fees have also been mentioned, depending on the type of account or additional services selected.
"What is wrong with you people? 'I am wrong'? 'I lied?' I had a question about getting a better interest rate on the 800k. I called 66 2 645 5555 and got an answer. I also called about a 300 THB ATM card charge; 66 2 645 5555 they answered then too. I even called 66 53 282 100, the local bank, about my 12-month statement, and got an answer."

why were you calling a 66 prefix from Chiangmai to bank. Yes bank answers international calls. But nor from local numbers.
Have called 6 or 8 local numbers ( that used to work..now don't. Have record of 30 odd calls, with " no longer in service " as am making issue of it with Bangkok main office

I had a Be1st smart debit mastercard with Bangkok bank ,upon it being swallowed at a faulty Bank of Bangkok ATM at PPT station which was no fault of my own ,they charged me 400baht for a new one which is ridiculous ,if this was UK the bank would accept full liability for there Faulty ATM machine and issue new debit card for nothing so be warned !!!
yes there was and a guy right in next kiosk used his card in the same ATM and was also charged as I spoke to him in the bank ,bloody disgrace ,I even complained to the branch manager about it and she said it was right !!
The insurance is paid when the account is opened. There are no more charges or fees. At the end of one year, the policy dies unless you renew it. No action required if you don't want it any longer after one year...just let it expire.
I opened in early June 2021 and they charged mid August 2022. Last year (2023) I haven't received any notification though I think they didn't take. So the free might just be only the first year, I'm not sure. But I really think last year they didn't take
well, MAYBE not . . . . if he opened the account in October and they charge him now, 6 months later, it could be anything like a half-year fee or it could even be a full year fee. Although it would be a very steep price for only half a year. I get charged 500.- THB for my Debit card per year
No, Im saying that fee the Author mentions it not a card fee for the same debit card in bkk bank. Its something else and needs to be checked. Would I talk about other bank fees?? wake up dude
Havent noticed any fees yet so far. Maybe I need to recheck π But Im always very cautious of any dubious actions. I paid 200 baht for the same card, second time they tried to charge me 400 but I spoke it down to 200 again
No comission/annual fee never.. 0nly 15 baht transfer fee everytime I withdraw from BKK bank ATM.. WTH!?`I thought it was for free from own bank atm. Better scan with app or pay with card
. I know I paid approximately this as a one time fee when I got the same card as you, and as I now see in my account, they just withdraw 15 thb each month for my card or account as a monthly fee.
mine is taken once a year, used to be 300 baht when I had UnionPay but went up to 400 baht when I asked them to swap it for a Mastercard. I don't pay anything for my account, they pay me a paltry level of interest for that. Are you with bangkok bank?
mine is ΰΈΏ15 per ATM out of Provence charge from where your bank is located, I've heard if you do a cardless withdrawal it's free, I haven't tried it yet.
Now Iβm in Norway π³π΄ and they still charge me 15 thb in Thailand πΉπ. πThey also charge me 15 thb when I withdraw money out of province (called transfer fee), but not when I use the scan function in the app to pay.
have you tried doing a cardless withdrawal from an ATM?? I heard it free, and you don't get that ΰΈΏ15 out of Provence charge, I haven't tried myself yet.
seems pretty steep for a card fee. Bangkok Bank is usually 300 for UnionPay or 400 for Visa/Mastercard

As an aside, I got a BE1st debit card when I opened my account at age 73. Two years later the card was βeatenβ by an ATM and on asking for a replacement card I was only allowed to have a cash card as I was then over 75!
Exactly! Banks are weird. My Citi Bank account was sold out to UOB who now tell me I have to visit a branch office to transfer from my GBP account to my own THB account!!! Cannot do online! Bloody Singaporeans!
