Hi everyone. Last October I opened a bank account with Bangkok bank.

Today I got this sms.

Transfer/payment from your account X0149 of Bt 750.00 via AUTO system

Before I try contacting the bank anyone know what this 750 baht charge is for?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A 750 baht charge reported by a user from Bangkok Bank is likely related to annual fees associated with their bank account or debit/ATM card. Community comments suggest this charge could be for an annual account maintenance fee or a yearly debit card fee, which typically falls within this price range. It's recommended that the user contact Bangkok Bank directly to clarify the nature of the charge. Variations in fees have also been mentioned, depending on the type of account or additional services selected.

have 4 accounts with them...all fees pretty much the same. I have debit cards attached.

I get message for each debit or fee. And what it was billed from.

Bkb, has made mistakes in past, although it may take 6 months they correct if you stay on them.

takes 1 minute to call the bank... and I would guess it's for a laundry bill

depending on Province...can't call.

Not one bank or branch answer phone.

why were you calling a 66 prefix from Chiangmai to bank. Yes bank answers international calls. But nor from local numbers.

Have called 6 or 8 local numbers ( that used to work..now don't. Have record of 30 odd calls, with " no longer in service " as am making issue of it with Bangkok main office

I live in Chiang Mai and have a 062 prefix drop the 66 have called 4 times always got through. No point in making that up.

The insurance is paid when the account is opened. There are no more charges or fees. At the end of one year, the policy dies unless you renew it. No action required if you don't want it any longer after one year...just let it expire.

well, MAYBE not . . . . if he opened the account in October and they charge him now, 6 months later, it could be anything like a half-year fee or it could even be a full year fee. Although it would be a very steep price for only half a year. I get charged 500.- THB for my Debit card per year

No, Im saying that fee the Author mentions it not a card fee for the same debit card in bkk bank. Its something else and needs to be checked. Would I talk about other bank fees?? wake up dude
Jan ******************
@Victor ******
Ok, I paid 700 thb for my Be1st card in Bangkok Bank and they withdraw 15 thb every month as commission/Annual Fee.

@Jan *****************
Havent noticed any fees yet so far. Maybe I need to recheck πŸ™‚ But Im always very cautious of any dubious actions. I paid 200 baht for the same card, second time they tried to charge me 400 but I spoke it down to 200 again

Ok, this is from my bank, but we all know things might vary between banks and even branches within the same bank.

@Jan *****************
No comission/annual fee never.. 0nly 15 baht transfer fee everytime I withdraw from BKK bank ATM.. WTH!?`I thought it was for free from own bank atm. Better scan with app or pay with card

agree, I pay almost everything with the scan-function.

. I know I paid approximately this as a one time fee when I got the same card as you, and as I now see in my account, they just withdraw 15 thb each month for my card or account as a monthly fee.

@Jan *****************
mine is taken once a year, used to be 300 baht when I had UnionPay but went up to 400 baht when I asked them to swap it for a Mastercard. I don't pay anything for my account, they pay me a paltry level of interest for that. Are you with bangkok bank?

seems pretty steep for a card fee. Bangkok Bank is usually 300 for UnionPay or 400 for Visa/Mastercard

As an aside, I got a BE1st debit card when I opened my account at age 73. Two years later the card was β€œeaten” by an ATM and on asking for a replacement card I was only allowed to have a cash card as I was then over 75!
