Also, just to highlight, gay marriage was approved last month. Just waiting for the king’s signature and 180 days to pass. So if you had been in a same-sex relationship, it might not be an issue in the future. Also, I have heard that some Thai embassies recognize same sex marriage, if the embassy is in a country that has it, so you could apply from that embasy. Where others have had issues are when applying for extensions in country, as immigration office wouldn’t recognize it.

it would be a DTV visa. There are three different pathways to get this visa, but in the end it is still the same visa.

Mine is a sticker in the passport. I handed it over, opened to that page, and highlighted the visa type

- the economy is slowing down and not making as much via tourism. They are hoping by letting in so many foreigners, we will spend our money and strengthen the economy. Shall see how the tax thing works though

you have to look at their website. If the Indonesia embasy requires a scheduled appointment, they will tell you how to schedule it

I doubt it. DTV is a glorified tourist visa, not a residency visa

This happened to me last Friday. Immigration officer had to call supervisor over. Both were very apologetic. I think they were just trying to figure out the exact date of 180 days

I needed something similar once for my Afghanistan visa. They couldn't certify my academic documents, but instead certified my statement in which I said my academic documents were real. It was strange. That was in Dubai and the US embassy did it in front of me.

I have the same thoughts, that it might be tightened at some point, so decided it was best to get this 5-year visa now.

Does the US embassy even certify academic documents?
