Can I apply for DTV at Hanoi but stay at a hotel in HCMC? The entire visa process is online so does it matter where i stay in Vietnam?

Answer summary

The process of applying for a DTV visa in Vietnam requires adherence to consulate jurisdiction. Users must apply at the consulate that serves the location of their collected arrival stamp. Although online applications are possible, location restrictions can come into play, especially if an interview is required. While some community members confirm flexibility in applying for the visa from Hanoi even when staying in Ho Chi Minh City, others emphasize the necessity of aligning the application with the actual location where the individual should apply.

You need to use the consulate where you arrived as the entry stamp in your passport would say hcmc

There are 2 consulates in Vietnam. They both serve particular areas so you must apply at the one that serves your location. You can't stay in one location and use the consulate that serves a different location

Yes, it's fine as long as you're in the same country. But if they invite you for an interview, that could be a bit of a hassle.

You’re wrong. It depends on which airport they fly into and they would need to provide proof of their accommodation in Hanoi.
