I always have multi re-entry Permit and have had since 2017. Just get it at visa renewal so save hassle. When I was changing from O to B I was told leave in the O. Upon return ask at immigration to ignore re-entry and come in on Visa Exempt. They would not allow it. I then had to go and have O visa cancelled at office it was issued (pay for the privilege). Then leave again and come back on Visa Exempt. Then fly out again for a B. What a palaver. Now I should have gone to Immigration and cancelled O first time. No matter in the end. Had 2 very nice expenses paid 4 night 5* star stays in Singapore out of it. No idea how it will work with the DTV.
I had a muitli re-entry. Immigration would not stamp me in Visa Exempt on an O so I could apply for a B. I could not got from an O to a B. I had to get O cancelled. Do a visa run to get Visa Exempt. Fly to Singapore to get 90 day B. Come back and get B extended to 2 years at BOI One Stop Shop
So you leave on the B with a re-entry permit. Apply for DTV in home country? Who cancels the B? Does that not have to be Immigration? The only reason I ask is that I left in an O alwith a multi re-entry. Wanted to come back in on Visa Exempt so O visa cancelled. Immigration at Bangkok would not allow me. Had to go to Immigration to have O cancelled. This is not the same situation though but just highlighting Immigration are not predictable
It is supposed to be the landlord and I have never had an issue. In Bangkok ot was never done as on BOI Visa and they did not seem to care. Nobody at the company had it down. Three other landlords or agents did it as part of the set up. If a landlord does not want to do it then probably dodging tax on rentals lol
