TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a DTV visa and wishes to change to a Non-O visa. There are mixed opinions regarding whether this change can be done within Thailand or if an exit is necessary. One comment indicates that it is possible to convert the DTV to a Non-O visa at a local immigration office without leaving Thailand, while another suggests that one must exit the country to apply for the Non-O visa. Additionally, there are questions about the user's qualification for the Guardian visa.

Yes, you can change it, but you must cancel it at the Immigration Office first.

If you need to use an agency, we can help.

Anonymous participant yeah 💯.

Sorry my last message wasn’t clear… I meant you should write an explanation to the consulate/embassy that you applied from to explain why you are cancelling the DTV.

But yeah to be fair mate I figured as much that the only reason someone would switch would be because of the banking headache that has started

Why do you think that you need to change from your DTV Visa to the Guardian Visa ???

Are you sure that you qualify to be on the Guardian Visa?

Are you now the parent of a child living with you in Thailand?

Curious... what's the reason ?

The DTV visa is valid for 5 years.

You can only change from a DTV to another visa inside Thailand. You go to your local immigration office and ask for their requirements to convert a DTV to to the Non-O based on being a guardian
